I love Saab & the Saab Museum

Hip hip hurray! The Saab museum really survives and stay`s in Trollhättan. What a good news we`ve got yesterday! I`m really very happy that the museum stay`s alive (the dutchies are talking about a meet in Trollhättan so extra boats are needed to transport them to Sweden). Let us all hope that the Saab factory `ll be saved soon too!

Robert Nordqvist made the above picture and Fredrik Nordqvist made it a bit funnier.

Trolhättan bid for museum not high enough

According to Ttela the bid of the city of Trollhättan for the complete car collection of the Saab Car Museum is not high enough. This because higher bids are placed.

Also the national museum in Stockholm has showed interest in the museum but lacks the financial funds to bid for the whole collection.

About the Innovatum plan we did not find news yet. Does this mean this bid was also too low?

From SU (no offence) there is no follow up visible about the e-mails we`ve sent. Am worried about the museum, not the cars. They`ll find their way to Saab lovers through the whole world soon.

Maybe it is possible to join forces (Innovatum/Trollhättan/Saab fans). If the Ursaab sleeps 2 month`s a year in the National Museum in Stockholm they might also participate in saving the Saab Museum.

Trollhättan bids for Saab museum too

According to the mayor of Trollhättan the city of Trollhättan has put in a bid for the complete Saab museum. As we all know there are more than 500 bids (not all of them for the complete Saab museum of course). There are more then 100 Saabs in the Museum, see them in this pdf.

There is the Innovatum bid too, unfortunately they did not join forces. Let us hope that one of these bids is high enough for the lawyers!

Besides that there are a lot of other bids as mentioned before. Like the bid for the 2 Saab cars above driving the Mille Miglia rally from 2011. SteveMcKelvie and his rally partner Harald von Langsdorff noticed that two of the museum cars had competed in the 2011 running of the Mille Miglia rally.

The Mille Miglia rally might be the most prestigious rally in the world at this time and just getting a car accepted for the rally is quite difficult. For example, this year they already have about 1,600 applicants for the 375 starting positions. Many very elegant, very expensive cars are not accepted. So when Mille Miglia eligible cars are for sale it provides an opportunity for someone to be able to enter the Mille Miglia. Harald and Steve pooled some funds and submitted a bid. More about these guys and their story on their blog.

News From Sverige Radio Regarding The Museum

This is a rough translation of the news regarding the museum:

Innovatum may take over Saab Museum

Innovatum has received an offer from Trollhättan and the region of money that could save the threatened closure Saab Museum.

- My guess is that the negotiations with the receivers are finished in a few weeks, says Helmersson, president of Innovatum to P4 West.

If the museum can be continued for the costs to be reduced. And where will the Saab veterans, formerly P4 West have reported, wanted to help save Saab Museum in.

Veterans offer to volunteer to help with the operation.

Veterans want to save Saab Museum

- I am very grateful to the veteran guys can think of doing this, says Helmersson, president of Innovatum.

Innovatum has received an offer from the region on economic aid to drive the Saab Museum. First you have Innovatum negotiate with the receivers on the cars in the museum will be resolved by the bankruptcy estate.

If this doesn't work out, us Saab fans have a Plan B!
