IntSaab 2012

Last week I`ve visited IntSaab 2012 in Spa (Belgium) with my 95. I have made a lot of pictures of the participating Saabs. Some of them are visible on this page. More pictures (made by other Saabists) are visible too on the Facebook page of Save Saab!
At IntSaab I`ve met my Saab friend Alexander for the first time in real life, he has a blog about Saab too and as you can see on this page, he has a better camera than I have.

The World Map of Saabs

It's always a great feeling to see a Saab, while away from home. You come to a foreign city and see, that there are people with the same passion as you have. Than it stops to matter from which era the Saab is. It's a Saab. As many others I take pictures of spotted Saabs as well as of mine on the road. There are many of these pictures circulating or just sleeping in the computers. It's a pity when they sleep, isn't it? Therefore I'd like to try to create a world map of Saabs. A rather simple one. Each photo has it's own placemark. Right now, they are coming from me and a couple of friends. Take a look at the map and the pictures. Would you have your Saab or a spotted Saab on the map as well ? Send a picture to contact.saabism@gmail.com and name the location where it is taken. I will add it to the map. It's so simple. The target is to get the map crowded. If you wish to clean the numberplate, just write it. The text above is copy pasted from http://saabism.blogspot.com/

Saab is sold!

Today we have really good news! Saab is sold to a new owner, the company NEVS. NEVS wants to make both electrical and hybrid Saabs as we understood. China is the country that the New Saab is focussing to in the first place. NEVS want to produce the current 9-3 as an electric car. Saab `ll start now with recruiting, the plan is that the first new Saabs `ll leave the factory in 2013 of 2014.

News about Saab

At the moment there still is not much to tell about Saab. In India there are sources reporting that Mahindra has bought Saab. Other sources claim that National Electric Vehicle Sweden AB is the new owner. As long as there is no official statement of the administrators we still know nothing. What we do know is that VM drove a Saab 93 in the Mille Miglia of 2012. Don`t know about the Mille Miglia? In 2011 Saab made this nice video about the Mille Miglia: . Three Saabs where driving in the 2011 Mille Miglia, in 2012 the 93 of VM drove the only one Saab. Fortunately cars of other brands where allowed to drive the Mille Miglia too...

Youngman out of the game

According to a Swedish source Youngman is out of the game of Saab Ab. Negotiations with the administrators have been stopped said a source involved in the process to di.se. Instead, another Chinese group called electric vehicle consortium took the tip and the advanced stage of negotiations. "The reason that Youngman`s out of the negotiations is that the administrators feel uncertain about the payments that are controlled by the Chinese bureaucracy and that they can take a long time" says Di`s source (Thanks to Chris Ivory for translating).

No news about Saab yet unfortunately

Because there`s still no news about Saab, it is rather silent on this blog unfortunately. Sad, but true. Saabsunited is busy to save one of the last Saabs for the Museum, maybe you did not notice? If not, here is the link. I for myself have used my 9-3 convertible last month where she was made for on a trip to Italy (from the Netherlands). Wow what am I happy with that car. Silent, quick and comfortable as well. So sad they`re not in production anymore.
We`ve done the trip with 2 convertibles, a red one and my black one. Driven normally the fuel consumption of the red one was just about 15% higher compared to my Saab.
More pictures of my trip are on this page.
